Admissions Requirements

The goal of the Admissions Office is to inform individuals about the educational opportunities SCIT offers so that they may decide if SCIT meets their academic goals. The Admissions Office seeks career focused individuals that are committed to their education and that demonstrate the potential to make a positive difference in their community.

To qualify for admission into Southern California Institute of Technology, an individual must:

  • Complete an Application for Admissions (Completed at the Admissions Office)
  • Pass a standardized entrance exam given at SCIT
  • Complete an interview and tour the facilities
  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma, General Equivalency Certificate (G.E.D.), or Demonstrate Ability to Benefit.*

*High School Diploma or General Equivalency Certificate (G.E.D.) is required for admission into a Degree Program. If you do not have a High School Diploma or G.E.D., or want more information about Ability to Benefit, please contact the Admissions Office to learn about your options.

Please Note: Applicants not seeking a Degree or Diploma but wishing to take individual courses must meet the same admissions requirements as those applying for a regular program.

Orientation

Newly admitted students are scheduled to attend an orientation session to introduce them to a community that is filled with academic opportunities, support and interesting people. During orientation students will be introduced to the various SCIT Student Affairs offices including the Student Services Office and the Career Services Office. Students will also review a few of the colleges’ policies and be able to ask any last minute questions before beginning the program.
