Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist program at SCIT is designed to introduce and/or refresh students to the various functions within the accounting profession and the necessary skills used in the modern business workplace by integrating classroom learning models with real-world accounting scenarios through lecture, group discussions and practical hands-on training.

The Accounting courses are structured to develop soft skills needed in analyzing: Objective, Scope, Methodology, and Execution; progressing through the comprehensive accounting cycle.

Manual Accounting & Accounting Principles to include, but not limited to:

Accounting Rules (GAAP)
Analyzing Transactions
Creating/Editing Charts of Accounts
Journalizing Entries (Double-Entry)
Posting Ledgers and Sub-Ledgers
Preparing/Analyzing Financial Statements
Closing/Adjusting Entries
Reporting

Tools for Accounting

Utilizing Computerized Accounting to include, but not limited to:

Company set up
Payroll
Account Reconciliation
A/Receivable & A/Payable
Inventory
Sales and Purchases
Reporting

Accounting courses are offered both day and night. The program length is 7 months
