SCIT Career

Becoming an Electrician

Becoming an electrician is not limited to residential construction projects alone. Many electrical careers begin in the commercial and industrial sectors installing and troubleshooting electrical components for commercial buildings and factories. Examples include elevator installation for commercial buildings and electric motor installation for production factories.

Electrician Certification

Due to concerns regarding safety and practice of electrical standards, the State of California recently placed regulations for those wishing to work as or become a certified electrician in California. One route for those wanting to perform electrical work for C-10 electrical contractors, yet not qualifying to take the certification exam, is to register with the State of California as an electrician trainee. Visit the DAS Electrician website for complete information on the California Electrician Certification Program.
