Senior Project

All BSA seniors complete a business application based capstone senior project. Students must analyze, research and present a financial solution to a real-world accounting challenge by gathering and applying accounting principles learned throughout the curriculum. The project is designed to promote the integration and assimilation of the accounting disciplines learned from previous courses. Emphasis is placed on the use of strategic, analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate certain accounting and business situations. Students are expected to demonstrate skills that include financial and accounting understanding, research ability, oral + written communication, and the ability to work in teams. The goal of the project is to instill an understanding of the needs of accounting and the relationship between financial accounting and other functions of business.
