Environment

The SCIT biomedical lab (medLAB) is a simulated clinical environment equipped with patient monitoring systems, infusion pumps, cardiac defibrillators, ultrasound machines, neonatal equipment, and various other commonly used biomedical instrumentations. Many of the devices were generously donated by Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

Objectives

Identify, troubleshoot and repair problems relating to the operation of electronics based biomedical instruments.

Projects

ECG measurements, blood pressure measurement systems, defibrillators and ESU performance, bedside monitoring systems, instrumentation amplifiers for ECG systems, operation of dialysis machines, ventilators and more.
