It is the mission of SCIT's library to support the curricular and professional needs of the students, faculty, and administration by continuously developing, acquiring and maintaining information resources and services. The college continues to expand its core materials in order to make the library experience more beneficial for the students. A professional librarian is available to help students and faculty with research projects and other information needs.
The SCIT library has over 3000 books, 500 reference books and multiple magazines and periodicals available for students and faculty to check out. Our collection includes reference material in the areas related to the subject matter taught at the school including business and engineering titles.
There are multiple, high speed internet-ready computer workstations available for students to use both in the college library and in designated classrooms. Some workstations are preinstalled with course related software for students to access.
Printing Service: Students may print documents from any computer workstation in the library free of charge.
Online Libraries: To facilitate the continuous development of learning resources available to our students, SCIT has formed partnerships with prominent educational institutions to share access to online academic resources. SCIT students have access to online libraries from;
Wireless Access: High-speed wireless internet access is available to student throughout the SCIT campus free of charge. Students who have laptops with wireless cards or other Wi-Fi devices and are within the signal broadcast range may connect to the wireless network.
The SCIT Media Library is a collection of instructional DVDs related to course topics that students may access and view on individual computer viewing stations. Students do not need to worry about the availability of the videos since they may be accessed by multiple students at any one time. A convenient user interface sorts the instructional videos based on the courses offered at SCIT so students may easily find what they are looking for. The collection provides faculty members with educational media to support classroom instruction and also provides students with non-book materials to support Independent Study and class research projects.
